VIKINGS RALLY – GET 66-58 WIN OVER NICKERSON

Blanchat Scores 24, Campbell has 14

LINDSBORG – On Friday, the Smoky Valley boys thrilled the home crowd with a valiant fourth-quarter rally to gain a 66-58 win over visiting Nickerson.

With the win the Vikings broke a five-game losing skid and now hold a 3-11 record on the season with a busy week ahead as they travel to Hoisington on Tuesday, travel to Larned on Thursday before closing out the week hosting Haven on Friday.

Against the Panthers, Smoky Valley trailed by one at 13-14 at the end of the first quarter before gaining a one-point lead, 27-26, going to the halftime break.

Nickerson went ahead by three, 40-43, at the end of the third quarter when the Vikings rallied back and outscored the Panthers 26-16 in the final eight minutes of play to gain the  final eight-point victory.

Ki Blanchat had a huge game, hitting four three-pointers in leading the Vikings in scoring with 24 while also picking up four rebounds, dishing out three assists and swiping a pair of steals, all which tied for the team highs. Taylor Campbell chipped in with 14 points.
