LINDSBORG – With one game to go in the regular season, the Smoky Valley boys closed out their  final full week with a loss to both Pratt (43-67) on the road and Hesston (35-53) at home.

 

With a game to go in the regular season, the Vikings stand at 4-15 for the season as they close it out with a home against Halstead on Tuesday.

 

For their Class 3A sub-state tournament hosted by Southeast of Saline in Gypsum that begins the week of February 26, the Vikings will compete with Burlington, Council Grove, Halstead, Hesston, Osage City and Santa  Fe Trail for a spot at the state tournament.

SMOKY VALLEY VIKINGS at Pratt on Tuesday

 

The Vikings fell behind by five, 12-17 at the end  of the first quarter before being outscored 24-7 in the second eight minutes of play to fall behind 19-41 at the halftime break. While Smoky Valley scored 24 points in the final two quarters, it was not enough to take the final 24-point, 43-67, loss.

 

Sophomore Ty Heitschmidt led the Vikings offense with 17 points while Ki Blanchat chipped in with 13.
