VIKINGS CLOSE SEASON WITH LOSS TO HESSTON

LINDSBORG – It was a hard way to finish a season, but the Smoky Valley boys closed out their 2023-24 season with a humbling 29-point, 37-66 loss to Hesston at their Class 3A Southeast of Saline Sub-State.

 

With the loss the  Vikings finish 4-17 for the season. Hesston, the top-seed of the sub-state, moves to 18-3 on the season.

 

The Vikings fell behind early, 7-20, at the end of the first quarter and trailed Hesston by 15 at the halftime break before falling behind by 28 heading into the final quarter of the season.

 

Only three Vikings scored in the game as Taylor Campbell connected on three three-pointers and had a team high of 20 while Ki Blanchat chipped in with 11.

 

While Smoky Valley hit a solid 46% of their two point attempts, Hesston was smoking hot as they made 73% of theirs.
