On Monday, the McPherson USD 418 Board of Education selected Simpson Construction to be the Construction Manager at Risk for the voter approved 2026 Bond Projects.
This comes after following a competitive qualification-based selection process that included written proposals and interviews. Each firm was evaluated on experience, project approach, financial stewardship, and commitment to collaboration.
With this process, Simpson Construction was selected as the partner seemingly best equipped to help the district deliver high-quality projects while maximizing the community’s investment.
Located in Wichita, as Construction Manager at Risk, Simpson Construction will work alongside the district’s architectural partner, incite Design Studio, as well as district staff from the earliest stages of planning through contruction.
Simpson Construction’s involvement early in the design process helps identify cost-saving opportunities, refine projects schedules, and ensure projects stay on budget while delivering the best possible value for the community.
“Choosing a Construction Manager at Risk is about much more than just selecting a builder,” noted incoming USD 418 Superintendent Cody Rierson. “We are choosing a partner who will help us make thoughtful decisions every step of the way. We are confident Simpson Construction will be a good steward of our community’s bond dollars.”
Rierson continued by adding, “We are grateful for the community’s support and investment in our facilities, and we know Simpson Construction will help us make the most of that investment while creating learning environments our students, staff, and community can be proud of.”
Simpson Construction is a family-owned company headquartered in Wichita with extensive experience in delivering K-12 school project across Kansas using the Construction Manager at Risk delivery method.
Among projects Simpson Construction has worked on are USD 382 Pratt; USD 379 Clay Center; USD 343 Buhler; USD 263 Mulvane; USD 375 Circle as well as projects for Friends University, Newman University and Sterling College.
“We are incredibly honored to partner with the McPherson community on this transformative bond project,” explained Jared Simpson, President of Simpson Construction. “We understand the immense trust the people of McPherson have place in us, and our team at Simpson Construction is fully committed to delivering an exceptional project through transparent collaboration and unwavering dedication.
Simpson concluded his comments by saying, “Ultimately, this partnership is about more than just construction – it is a true reflection of our core promise of building spaces that increases the value of life.”
Additional information, including design updates and construction timelines, will be shared throughout the bond program through USD 418’s website and communication channels.
