LADY WILDCATS FINISH 4-1 AT BLUEBIRD INVITATIONAL

GOESSEL – It was a good day on Saturday for the Moundridge volleyball team as they competed at the Bluebird Classic in Goessel where they finished the day going 4-1 and placing third in the team standings.

In the first three matches of the day, the Lady Wildcats won all in straight sets, beating Canton/Galva 25-13, 25-22 before hammering Fairfield 25-13, 25-9 plus taking down Class 6A Wichita Southeast 25-12, 25-15.

Being 3-0, Moundridge played in the Invitational’s semi-finals against Sedgwick where they were handed their first loss in straight sets to Sedgwick, losing 17-25 and 18-25.

The Lady Wildcats bounced back in the third-place game by defeating larger school Wichita Southeast again in straight sets, this time by scores of 25-17 and 25-9.

Through five matches on the day, Cammi Unruh led the Lady Wildcats in kills with 36 while also hammering out 12 service aces and 42 assists.

Macy Kaminkow recorded 23 kills with zero errors while making nine blocks and Aspyn Stos had five blocks and five service aces. Addysen Patrick pitched in with 37 digs on the day as well.

Now 10-4 on the season, the Lady Wildcats will be back on the competitive court on Tuesday when they travel to Ell-Saline.
