Success in Five Areas of Education

MOUNDRIDGE – In a recent form of recognition from KSDE (Kansas State Department of Education) Commissioner Randy Watson, Moundridge USD 423 was recognized for achievement in five core areas of education.

According to USSD 423 Superintendent Cody Rierson, the note from Commissioner Watson validated success in the following areas of education – Social Emotional Growth, Kindergarten Readiness, Academically Prepared for Postsecondary, Graduation, and Postsecondary Effectiveness.

“In the past we were only recognized in two of the areas listed,” explained Superintendent Rierson. “This type of growth is phenomenal.”

The KSDE recognized USD 423 with these banners:

Ø Social Emotional Growth = Copper

Ø Kindergarten Readiness = Copper

Ø Academically Prepared for Postsecondary = Copper

Ø Graduation = Silver

Ø Postsecondary Effectiveness = Bronze

In a statement from the KSDE, “The Kansans Can Star Recognition Program recognized the Moundridge district’s success for their outcome measures which Kansas hold as they value, and it was clear that Moundridge was moving all of us closer to achieving the state’s vision.”

Commissioner Watson also noted that, “This is exciting news for all your staff members, please pass along our sincerest thank for the hard work they are all doing to ensure that each Kansas and Moundridge student is successful.”

Superintendent Rierson concluded his reflections on the outstanding achievement and recognition by saying, “This is a time for all patrons of USD 423 to celebrate. Staff, students, parents, and an amazing community together made this possible. We appreciate everything you all do for our Wildcats. Keep up the great work!”
