LADY REDSKINS ROLL AGAIN, HAMMER HERRINGTON 66-23

            LITTLE RIVER – Despite playing without their leading scorer, the Little River girls basketball team continued to roll on Monday as they hammered visiting Herrington 66-23.

 

            The Lady Redskins raced out to a 19-point, 25-6, lead by the end of the first quarter and while they only scored seven in the second, still held a 19-point, 32-13, advantage at the halftime break. Throwing 27 points on the scoreboard in the third quarter, Little River held a 41-point, 59-18, lead at the end of three quarters before cruising in for the final 43-point victory.


 

            Lady Redskin leading scorer Arika Feldman did not play as she was unavailable due to an illness, four girls still put double digit points in the scorebook led by Lucy Wright with 15 points. Both Evie Look and Adelynne Strecker scored 14 and Havana Olander chipped in with 12.

 

            Olander and Saelyn Raleigh directed much of the offense with Olander dishing out seven assists and Raleigh passing out six. Avery Lafferty led the work in the paint for Little River by grabbing six rebounds while Look, Olander and Raleigh each recorded four. The Little River defense forced Herrington into making 28 turnovers of which 24 came on steals where Strecker and Wright both made six steals and Raleigh had five.

 

            Now 13-0 for the season, the Lady Redskins will host Sunrise Christian Academy on Friday, January 31.
