LADY REDSKINS EARN SPOT IN TITLE GAME

DODGE CITY – They are one game away from finishing what they missed a year ago as the Little River girls are once again in the Class 1A Division I state championship game thanks to a 16-point, 68-52, win over Quinter on Friday.
Now 23-0, the Lady Redskins in 2024 lost in the state finals by just six points to Frankfort after being undefeated coming into the game. Now they get chance number two, this year they will tangle with unbeaten (25-0) Centralia at 4:00 pm on Saturday. Centralia played their way into the game with an 18-point, 58-40 win over Troy.

Against Quinter, Little River jumped out to a 10-point, 18-8, lead by the end of the first quarter before taking a commanding 18-point, 39-21, advantage into the halftime break. Quinter chiseled six points off the lead and trailed the Lady Redskins 50-38 at the end of the third quarter before Little River pulled away for the final 16-point, 68-52, victory.
Statistics showed how close the game was as Quinter had the upper hand on rebounds, 28-35, while Little River forced Quinter into 23 turnovers, including 16 steals. Little River won the scoring from turnovers, 32-11, as well as work inside the paint, 44-30.
Avery Lafferty had a career night as she scored a game high 22 points to go along with dishing out a team-high five assists and pulling down six rebounds. Havana Olander also scored in double digits with 10 with Arika Feldman just missing a double-double with nine points and a game high 10 rebounds.
