LITTLE RIVER BOYS/GIRLS FINISH 2ND AT HESSTON

HESSTON – On Tuesday, the Little River boys/girls track/field teams traveled to Hesston for a six-team meet and both finished as runners-up to host Hesston in the team standings.

 

The Redskins won 10 individual events with the Lady Redskins earning six and the Redskin boys finishing with four.

 

For the Lady Redskins, they were led by the Olander sisters as Aubrey took first in both the 100- and 300-meter hurdles while Havana won both the long jump and triple jump. The Little River girls also took first in both the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays.

 

Overall, the Lady Redskins scored 132 team points, 15 points behind host Hesston as meet champion  and 42 ahead of third-place Sterling.

 

In the 100-meter dash, the Lady Redskins ran second, third and fourth with Saelyn Raleigh, Kami Grasser, and Alaina Eck while Grasser and Raleigh finished second and third in the 200 meters. Abby Schroeder ran second in the 1,600 meters, while Kate Ellwood and Avery Lafferty placed second in the pole vault and discus, respectively.

 

For the Redskin boys, they finished the meet with 120 team points, second behind host Hesston who score 173. Sterling finished third.

 

Andrew Smith had a monster day as he won all three of the dashes, the 100-, 200- and 400-meters. Christopher Norez scored  the other Redskin gold by winning the javelin.

 

Kal-El Robinson ran  second in the 200 meters and fourth in the 100, while Brady Obley finished  second in the 3,200 meters.

 

Little River ran second in both the 4x100- and 4x800 meter relays and finished third in the 4x400 relay.

 

The Little River track/field teams will  be in Lyons on Friday.
