LYONS – It was a good night for the Smoky Valley girls on Tuesday as they went on the road and rolled past Lyons to the tune of a 52-24 win.

 

Now 7-5 for the season and heading into the final weeks of the season, the Lady Vikings will play host to Nickerson on Friday.

 

Jumping out to a 14-2 lead at the end of the first quarter, Smoky Valley took a 29-4 advantage into the halftime break and had a commanding 47-14 lead after three quarters.

 

The Lady Vikings dominated the stat sheet, pulling down 41 rebounds to just 26 for Lyons, which helped in gaining an 18-4 difference in transition points.

 

ON offense, the Lady Vikings played as a team, dishing out 20 assists on 21 made field goals.

 

Four Lady Vikings reached double digits led by Katja Blanchat with 12 while Breanne Peters, Tinley Scott, and Adrian Hazelwood each scored 11.

Blanchat ended the night with a line full as she led the team in assists by passing out five while grabbing three rebounds, making a pair of steals, and blocking two shots.

 

Hazelwood recorded a double double as she had a game high 10 rebounds to go along with her 11 points, team high five steals and three blocked shots.
