Campbell Leads Viking Offense

LINDSBORG – On Friday, the Smoky Valley boys hosted Clay Center and hung with them for the first quarter before the Tigers ran away and beat the Vikings by 34, 44-78.
It was just a 16-18 game after the first quarter with Clay Center up by just two points before they held the Vikings to just eight points in the second quarter and put 26 in the scorebook themselves to take a commanding 24-44 advantage to the halftime break.
Taylor Campbell led the offense for the Vikings with 14 points while Ki Blanchat chipped in with eight. Both Campbell and Blanchat had a pair of three-pointers.
Now 2-10 for the season, the Vikings will look to pick up a pair of wins next week as they travel to Lyons on Tuesday where Lyons is just 5-8 on the season and then finish out the week hosting Nickerson on Friday.
