MCPHERSON SPLITS PAIR WITH HAYS

On Tuesday, the McPherson boys’ and girls’ basketball teams hosted Hays where the boys scored an impressive 60-44 win over the Class 5A seventh-ranked Indians while the Lady Bullpups lost 29-51.

McPherson Bullpups:

The McPherson boys scored a 16-point, 60-44 win over Hays by taking a solid 10-point, 18-8 lead in the first quarter and a 35-19 advantage into the halftime break. After pushing the lead to 23 at the end of the third quarter, the Bullpups settled in for the final 16-point victory.

Both Jett Pyle and Eli Reasoner scored 18 to lead the Bullpup offense.

HOSTING HAYS – TUESDAY, FEB 10

SCORING: Bullpups won 60-44.

Bullpups: 18-17-22-3 = 60; Hays: 8-11-15-10 = 44.

MCPHERSON LADY BULLPUPS:

The Lady Bullpups stumbled to a 29-51 loss at the hands of Hays, the fifth ranked team in Class 5A.

Down by eight at the end of the first quarter and by 20 at halftime, 7-27, Hays eventually finished out the game with a 22-point win.

The McPherson girls were led by Brooke Doile with 15 as she was the only one to reach double digits while she also led the team in rebounds with six.

SCORING: Lady Bullpups lost 29-51

Lady Bullpups: 5-2-14-8 = 29; Hays: 13-14-16-9 = 51.
