WILDCATS TAKE DOWN ELL-SALINE 50-32

BROOKVILLE – After losing to Ell-Saline 10 days ago in the finals of the Canton/Galva Tournament, it was sweet revenge for the Moundridge boys on Tuesday as they traveled to Brookville and scored an 18-point, 50-32 win over Ell-Saline.

 

The win dropped Ell-Saline, the fourth ranked team in Class 2A, to 9-2 while the Wildcats improved to 10-2 with the win. Moundridge will travel to cross-county rival Inman on Friday. The Wildcats defeated Inman 52-25 in early December.

 

As for the win over Ell-Saline, the Wildcats held an eight-point, 14-6 lead at the end of the first quarter before Ell-Saline chipped the deficit down to four, 24-20 in favor of Moundridge heading to the halftime break.

 

The Wildcats came out of the intermission and put 18 points on the board while holding Ell-Saline to just six in the third quarter before outscoring the Cardinals 8-6 in the final eight minutes of play to gain the final 18-point victory.

 

Barrett Moddelmog connected on four three-pointers to finish with 14 points tying him with Kreighton Kanitz for the team high.
