WILDCATS REMAIN UNBEATEN WITH SWEEP OF REMINGTON

REMINGTON – The Moundridge baseball team remained unbeaten on the season Friday with a clean doubleheader sweep, 15-10 and 13-1, on the road at Remington.

In game one, Moundridge held a slim one-run, 5-4, lead after three innings before they erupted for four runs in the fourth and five in the fifth to take a commanding 14-5 advantage. The Wildcats then held on to the 15-10 win after Remington rallied with five runs in the sixth and seventh innings.

Finn Lintecum, Logan Greenwalt, and Layton Schmidt each had a pair of hits while Lane Durst knocked in three runs with a triple while scoring four times himself. The Wildcats scored 11 earned runs on eight hits and the 17 walks delivered by Remington pitching.

Layton Schmidt started on the mound for the Wildcats and threw 81 pitches over five innings while waling one and striking out six before London Ward came on in relief and earned the save after throwing 46 pitches and giving up three walks while striking out three.

In game two, Moundridge scored eight runs in the third inning to take a commanding 11-1 lead on their way to a 13-1 victory.

Finn Lintecum had three hits and Logan Greenwalt pushed across five runs batted in to lead the Wildcat offense which totaled up 11 hits in the game.

Lintecum was on the mound for the Wildcats and needed just 65 pitches over five innings as he gave up just three hits, walked four and struck out three.

Now 4-0 for the season the Wildcats will be back on the road Tuesday at Bennington before returning to the home diamond on Friday to battle Sedgwick.
