MOUNDRIDGE – Life after Vance Unrau has begun as the Moundridge boys basketball team raced out early and held on to score a 24-point, 65-41 win over Elyria Christian at home on Friday.

With Dustan Kanitz now in charge of the program, it was as if they never missed a beat by jumping out to a 10-point, 18-8 lead by the end of the first quarter and then extended it to a 15-point advantage at 33-18 heading into the halftime break.

Pushing the lead out to 19 points at 50-31 by the end of the third, the Wildcats cruised on in to the final 24-point victory.

Henry Hecox led all scorers with 17 as transfer Kaizer Kanitz and Barrett Moddelmog joined him in double digits with 13 and 12 points respectively. Both Hecox and Moddelmog hit a pair of three-pointers as the team accounted for four total. No other stats were made available.
