WILDCATS PUMMEL GOESSEL BY 38, 61-23

Moddelmog scores 18, Hecox has 13

GOESSEL – The Moundridge boys went on the road Friday to Goessel and pummeled the Bluebirds 61-23.

 

Now 9-2 for the season and currently ranked fifth in Class 2A by the KBCA (Kansas Basketball Coaches Association), the Wildcats will be on the road twice next week, visiting Ell-Saline on Tuesday and cross county to Inman on Friday.

 

In the first quarter against Goessel the Wildcats powered out to a 27-0 lead by the end of the first quarter thanks to Barrett Moddelmog who scored 14 first quarter points by hitting on four three-pointers.

 

After Moundridge took a 31-point, 40-9, advantage to the halftime break, they cruised in the second half, out scoring Goessel 21-14 to earn the final 38-point victory.

 

Moddelmog led the Wildcats in scoring as he finished with 18 points while Henry Hecox chipped in with 13 and Layton Schmidt had eight. Nine Wildcats put at least a pair of points on the scoreboard and by their name in the scorebook.
