WILDCATS EARN 12 GOLD AT HILLSBORO

Unruh, Jantz, Hecox all got 2 Golds!!

HILLSBORO – ON Tuesday, the Moundridge track/field teams traveled to Hillsboro and scored a dozen gold medals while finishing second and third in the team standings.

 

Three Lady Wildcats scored a pair of gold medals as Hattie Hecox won both the triple jump and javelin, Cammi Unruh finished first in the 100 meters and long jump, and Haylee Jantz ran first  in both the 1,600- and 3,200-meters. Both the Lady Wildcat 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams also earned gold medals as well. Avery Schrag also scored a first-place win in the 200 meters while finishing second behind  Unruh in the 100 meters. Halle Hecox also finished second in the 800 meters.

 

As a team the Moundridge girls placed third out of six teams competing, as they scored 116 points. Berean Academy and Remington took first and second.

 

The Wildcat boys brought home three first place finishes as Henry Hecox won the javelin, Kreighton Kanitz jumped his way to first in the triple jump and Heath Churchill cleared enough height to win the high jump.

 

Both the 4x100 and 4x800 Wildcat relay teams took second as did Kaden Elmore in the 100 meters, Aiden Burge in the 900 meters, Dan Kuder in the 3,200 meters, and Heath Churchill in the 110-meter hurdles. Barrett Moddelmog also  scored a silver medal by finishing second behind Hecox  in the javelin.

 

The Wildcat boys finished second as a team with 165 points behind invite winner Berean Academy who had 193.

 

Moundridge will have their track/field  teams on the road at Lyons on Thursday.
