WILDCATS COME UP SHORT, LOSE TO ELL-SALINE

CANTON – Despite having the tournament MVP in Kreighton Kanitz, the Moundridge boys came up short to Ell-Saline Saturday in the Canton/Galva Invitational and lost 57-62 in the championship game battle.

 

Kreighton Kanitz was named to the all-tournament team while being the tournament Most Valuable Player after scoring 87 points in three games. Henry Hecox was also named to the all-tournament team.

 

The Wildcats fell behind by a pair of points, 12-14, at the end of the first quarter before bouncing back and taking a one-point, 25-24, lead into the halftime break.

 

After Ell-Saline took the lead back at 38-41 by the end of the third quarter, Moundridge just could not get over the  hump and ended up losing by five.

 

Kreighton Kanitz scored 27  points to lead the Wildcats while Hecox chipped in with 14 and Barrett Moddelmog had eight.

 

The loss drops the Wildcats to 8-2 for the season. They will return to the competitive court on Friday, January 26 when they travel to Goessel.
