MOUNDRIDGE – The young, upstart Moundridge football team kept rolling on Friday at home when they buried Solomon with a very decisive 60-0 win.


Now 6-0 for the season and currently ranked number four in 8-Man Division I, the Wildcats will host Goessel at home on Friday, October 13. Goessel will come into the game with a record of 1-5 after getting their first win of the season on Friday with a 46-12 victory over Pretty Prairie.


Moundridge set the ton when Kreighton Kanitz broke for a 60-yard scoring run early as the Wildcats rang up 52 points on the scoreboard in the first quarter. Kreighton added a 37-yard run for a score while brother Kaizer scored twice on runs and once on a blocked punt return and Barrett Moddelmog caught a pair of touchdown passes.


Logan Greenwaldt scored his first career Wildcat touchdown in the second quarter on a 32-yard sprint to put the final score at 60-0.


Moundridge only ran 20 offensive plays and had the ball for just a little over seven minutes but rolled up 248 yards in offense, including 201 on the ground.


Defensively, the Wildcats held the Gorillas to just 71 yards on 36 snaps and made three interceptions, two by Kreighton Kanitz.


On offense, Kreighton Kanitz only needed three carries to run for 110 yards. The Wildcats only completed two passes in the game and they both went to Barrett Moddelmog and touchdowns.
