WILDCAT BOYS WIN MEET AT GOESSEL, LADY WILDCATS THIRD

Elmore Wins 4 gold, Churchill Gets 2

GOESSEL – In a track/field meet held in Goessel while hosted by Canton/Galva, the Moundridge boys dominated, and the girls finished third with the two combining to win 16 gold medals.

Scoring 234 team points, the Wildcat boys dominated the meet as Kaden Elmore earned four gold medals and Heath Churchill came  home with three as the boys won 11 events and had at least two individuals scoring in 15 events.

Elmore swept the dashes by winning the 100-, 200-, and 400-meters plus running the final leg on the winning 4x100 meter relay team that included Kaizer Kanitz, Kreighton Kanitz and Paul Grill. Churchill earned his gold medals by winning the 110-meter hurdles, high jump and running the third leg of the champion 4x400 meter relay team.

Other event winners for the Wildcats included Paul Grill in the pole vault, Daniel Dixon in the Discus, Braden DenHartog in the shot put plus the 4x800 meter relay quartet.

The Lady Wildcats finished third with 96 points behind meet champion Goessel and Solomon.

Cammi Unruh won two of the five Lady Wildcat gold medals by winning both the 100- and 200-meters plus being a leg on the winning 4x400 meter relay team that included  Haylee Jantz who also took first in the 800 meters.

Aspyn Stos was strong in the field events as she won the discus, finished second in the javelin, and placed fourth in the shot put.
