STERLING – In their final game of the Sterling Tournament on Saturday, the Smoky Valley boys lost a close game by seven points, 55-62 to Hutchinson Trinity.
The Vikings led by three at 14-11 at the end of the first quarter before Trinity out scored Smoky Valley by 12 in the second quarter putting the Vikings behind by nine at 20-29 going into the halftime break.
Smoky Valley tried valiantly to keep up but were not able to catch up and lost by seven.
Ki Blanchat led the Vikings in scoring with 17 while both Taylor Campbell with 11 and Ty Heitschmidt with 10 also reached double digits.
