STERLING > At the Sterling Tournament on Thursday, the Smoky Valley boys fell behind early and never caught back up to host Sterling in losing 43-57.

Now 1-6 for the season, the Vikings will play Lyons on Friday in the consolation bracket.

After trailing by just three points, 7-10, at the end of the first quarter, the Vikings bell behind by 16 at 15-31 going into the halftime break and despite a valiant effort to knock some points off the deficit in the third quarter, the still trailed by 11, 33-44.

Ki Blanchat connected on three three-pointers in leading the team in scoring with 19 while Taylor Campbell just missed double digits with nine. Samuel Peterson did not score but topped the team in rebounds with nine while Ty Heitschmidt grabbed seven.
