Blanchat Gets Double-Double, Campbell Top Scorer

LINDSBORG – On Tuesday, the Smoky Valley boys lost their second game of the season when Southeast of Saline came to town and overcame an early Viking lead to defeat Smoky Valley in the end by 14.

The Vikings held a four-point, 15-11 lead at the end of the first quarter before Southeast of Saline doubled up the Vikings on points in the second quarter 8-16 to take a 23-27 advantage over Smoky Valley at the halftime break.

It was a six point, 36-42, game in favor of Southeast of Saline after three before they pulled out to the final 14-point victory at 41-55 over the Vikings.

Taylor Campbell and Ki Blanchat both hit for double digits in scoring for the Vikings with Campbell hit a pair of threes and going four-for-four at the free throw line in scoring 20 while Blanchat put a double-double in the books with 13 points and a team high 10 rebounds. Mason Holcom grabbed six rebounds and nabbed a pair of steals as well.

Next up for the winless Vikings will be on Friday when travel to Concordia.
