LINDSBORG – It was a rough game to begin the post-holiday season for the Smoky Valley boys as they fell behind early and lost a home game Tuesday 38-51 to Hoisington.
The Vikings fell behind by nine, 11-20 by the end of the first quarter but did chip a pair of points off the deficit by halftime, only trailing by seven at 23-30.
After Smoky Valley pulled to within five, 33-38 by the end of the third quarter, Hoisington out scored the Vikings 5-13 in the final eight minutes to get the final 13-point victory.
Ki Blanchat led the Vikings in scoring with 20 points as he connected on two of the team’s four three-pointers and drilled a perfect eight-for-eight at the free throw line.
