VIKING RUNNERS TAKE 1ST, 2ND AT CKL MEET

6 VIKINGS RUN WITH TOP-10 FINISHES!!

PRATT – On Thursday the Smoky Valley cross country teams put on a show despite the wind as they finished first and second in the team standings while placing six runners in the top-ten of their divisions.

The Lady Vikings won the girls race with 41 points, out running Hillsboro, Halstead and Lyons who rounded out the top four in the team standings.

Keira Mullen, Sophia Eyer and Esther Clark all medaled as they finished third, seventh, and eighth respectively. Emma Chaput also finished in the top twenty at seventeenth.

In the boys race, the Vikings finished second as a team behind Hoisington and ahead of Pratt, Lyons, and Hesston who all rounded out the top five.

Racing for finishes in the top ten for the Smoky Valley boys were Britton Becker in sixth, Brayden Eyer in seventh and Samuel Peterson in ninth. Kaden Bishop landed in the top-twenty with a placing of sixteenth.

Next up for the Smoky Valley cross country runners will be their Class 3A State Regional in Council Grove on Saturday, October 21 with hopes of qualifying for the Class 3A State Meet on Saturday, October 28 in Lawrence at Rim Rock Farms.
