VIKING HARRIERS FINISH 6TH AT HALSTEAD

HALSTEAD – On Thursday, the Smoky Valley cross country boys team ran at the Halstead Invitational and finished sixth overall.


Rolling up 185 points the Vikings trailed invitational team champion Southeast of Saline (25), Hutchinson Trinity (74), Goddard (149), Circle (151) and Marion with 159. There were 16 schools total running for the team championship.


Individually, Britton Becker and Samuel Peterson ran the best for Smoky Valley as they finished twenty-first and twenty-third with times of 18:48 and 18:52, respectively. There were 109 runners in the varsity division.


Charlie Bowman had the best Viking time in the Junior Varsity run, getting a season best time of 22:21 to finish fourteenth out of forty-seven runners.


Next up for the Viking harriers will be on Tuesday, October 3 at Ellsworth.
