The Little River girls continued to roll as they remained unbeaten while dominating both games at their Class 1A Division I Solomon sub-state over the weekend, humbling Canton/Galva 55-20 in the semi-finals and then beating Goessel 56-32 in the finals.
Now 23-0 for the season, the Lady Redskins will head to Colby as the number one seed of the Class 1A Division I State Tournament.
They will battle with eighth seed Olpe (18-5) on Thursday, March 7 to begin the tournament then with a win would face the winner between fourth seed Norwich (21-1) and fifth seed Centralia (21-2). The other bracket for the state tournament will have second seed Montezuma/South Gray (22-1) facing seventh seed Atwood/Pawnee County (19-4) plus third seed St. John/Hudson (22-1) battling sixth seed Frankfort (20-3).
The Lady Redskins have also been ranked number one in the Class 1A Division I rankings for much of the season as well.
Here is a summary of the two games they played at the Solomon Sub-State after having a first round bye.
LITTLE RIVER LADY REDSKINS vs. Goessel at Sub-State Finals
In the sub-state championship matchup, the Lady Redskins faced off with Goessel where they took an early eight-point, 13-5, lead at the end of the first quarter and then pulled away to carry a 32-13, 19-point advantage into the halftime break.
The Lady Redskins followed that up by out scoring Goessel in the final two quarters 24-19 for the final 24-point victory.
Alaina Eck, Arika Feldman, and Aubrey Olander lead the Little River offense with 15, 14, and 13 points, respectively. Aubrey Olander recorded a double double by leading the team with 11 rebounds. Eck topped the team in steals with four and pulled down seven rebounds.

LITTLE RIVER LADY REDSKINS vs. Canton/Galva in Sub-State Semi-Finals
Facing Canton/Galva in the sub-state semi-finals, it would be the third meeting of the season and it went much like the other two as the Lady Redskins humbled the Lady Eagles with a 35-point, 55-20 win.
After leading 11-2 and then 23-9 at the end of the first quarter and heading into the halftime break, Little River poured 20 points on the scoreboard in the third quarter to take a commanding 43-16 advantage before finishing off the final 35-point victory.
Ten Lady Redskins put points in the scorebook with Arika Feldman leading the way with 13 while both Alaina Eck and Havana Olander each chipping in with 10. Both Feldman and Eck topped the team in the paint with each grabbing six rebounds while Feldman and Havana Olander each recorded four steals as well.
