TURNOVERS COST TEUTONS

Lose to Trinity 20-6

HUTCHINSON – They won the stat numbers except for turnovers where they had four and that cost the Inman football team on Friday as Hutchinson Trinity did enough to get a 20-6 win.

One drive in the second quarter by the Teutons where Talon Welch finished it off with a one-yard plunge into the end zone to pull them within a score at 13-6, only to find the end zone again.

Overall, the Teutons produced more first downs, 17-11, than Trinity, while outgaining them 349 to 340 in offense, including 269 yards on the ground. What hurt were four turnovers, one being a fumble and three by pass interceptions.

Freshman Malachi Brunk ran for 97 yards but threw three interceptions as he was just three-of-fifteen passing for 49 yards. Kellen Schrag ran for 91 yards as well.

The loss drops Inman to just 1-4 on the season as they ready to play host to Ellinwood on Friday. Ellinwood will bring a 3-2 record into the game with a two-game losing streak after the Eagles lost 54-20 to Conway Springs on Friday.
