FREE READ – WHO PLAYS & WHEN

         This is IT!! The time has finally arrived where the kids of the area schools get to strut their stuff, the first full week of high school sports for the 2025-26 school year has begun.

         EACH WEEK – we will offer up a look at the schedule for each of the six area high schools and where they will be playing as a free read.

         DUE NOTE = why is it called a free read – it is due to that beginning Tuesday, September 2, articles we post regarding happenings among the six area high schools and communities will coast $2.50 per month…….that is less than the cost of a special cup of coffee or a donut to get all the stories about your kids and their achievements.

         Here is a breakdown of the six area schools and who is playing when for week one of Monday, September 1 to Sunday, September 7..

CANTON/GALVA EAGLES =

Ø Tuesday, September 2 = the Lady Eagle volleyball team will be at Inman Quad with Inman, Centre, and Wichita Classical.

Ø Wednesday, September 3 =the  Eagle cross country team is running at Tescott Invitational.

Ø Friday, September 5 = the Eagle football will play host to Centre.

ELYRIA CHRISTIAN EAGLES =

Ø Tuesday, September 2 = the Lady Eagle volleyball team will be at Hutchinson Central Christan for a triangular that includes WAHAA.

Ø Thursday, September 4 = the Lady Eagles volleyball team will be at Wichita Gladiators

Ø Thursday, September 4 = the Eagle cross country team will be at Smoky Valley Invitational

INMAN TEUTONS =

Ø Tuesday, September 2 = the Lady Teutons volleyball  team will host Quad with Canton/Galva, Centre, and Wichita Classical.

Ø Thursday, September 4 = the Teuton cross country team will be at the Smoky Valley Invitational.

Ø Friday, September 5 = the Teuton football team will be at Hutchinson Trinity.

Ø Saturday, September 6 = the Lady Teuton volleyball team will host an invitational.

LITTLE RIVER REDSKINS =

Ø Tuesday, September 2 = the Lady Redskins volleyball team will host triangular with Ellinwood and Hillsboro.

Ø Thursday, September 4 = the Lady Redskins volleyball team will at Nickerson.

Ø Friday, September 5 = the Redskin football team will be hosting Chase County.

MOUNDRIDGE WILDCATS =

Ø Tuesday, September 2 = the Lady Wildcat volleyball team will host Bennington

Ø Thursday, September 4 = the Wildcat cross country team will be at Great Bend.

Ø Friday, September 5 = the Wildcat football team will host Bennington.

Ø Saturday, September 6 = the Lady Wildcat volleyball team be at Inman Invitational.

SMOKY VALLEY VIKINGS =

Ø Tuesday, September 2 = the Lady Viking volleyball team will be at Ellsworth.

Ø Thursday, September 4 = the Lady Viking volleyball team will be at Abilene.

Ø Thursday, September 4 = the Viking cross country team will host an Invitational.

Ø Friday, September 5 = the Viking football team will be at Larned.

Remember, we will also post daily EMS/Fire calls/runs from the McPherson County communities if we receive the log reports by noon the following day.
