Scoring at least once in each quarter, the Inman football team scored a 41-0 shutout of Marion on Friday.

The Teutons opened their scoring in the first quarter when Malachi Brunk dove into the end zone from one-yard out.

In the second quarter, Brunk found the end zone again, as did Noah Herndon, giving Inman a solid 20-0 lead going into the halftime break.

Braxton Mally took control in the second half, beginning with a 28-yard run for a score in the third quarter, then adding a score on an 18-yard ramble. Brunk had his third touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter as well.

The Inman offense was full throttle, rolling u 342 yards on 51 offensive snaps, including 285 yards running the ball while recording 20 first downs. The Teutons were nearly perfect, going three-of-eleven on third downs and converting the only two fourth-down attempts they faced.

Leading the offensive attack was Malloy, who covered 125 yards on 11 carries, while Brunk ran 13 times for 66 and Korbyn McClellan had 62 yards on 11 totes.

Inman’s defense gave up just 131 yards on 43 plays, with Malloy leading the stops with 6.5 tackles as 15 Teutons recorded tackles in their stat sheets.

Next up for the undefeated (2-0) Teutons will be a true test of their football worth as they travel to Sterling on Friday to tangle with the defending state champion and unbeaten Black Bears.
