Seidl leads Inman in Scoring

By Staff
INMAN – Inman boys basketball kicked off the 2023-24 season in a good way as they scored a 10-point, 37-27 victory over visiting Minneapolis on Friday.
“I thought the boys played extremely hard tonight,” noted Teuton head coach Brett Froese. “We played a really nice first half and moved the ball well which was good as we have so many guys that are playing at the varsity level for the first time, but they handled it pretty well.”
After leading by just two at 13-11 at the end of the first quarter, the Teutons shut out Minneapolis 11-0 in the second to hold a solid 13-point, 24-11 halftime advantage.
Inman had to hold on in the second half as Minneapolis actually outscored the Teutons 16-13, though they did get the final 10-point win.
Cooper Seidl was the leading scorer and only one to make double digits with 12 while both Brody Froese and Zach Martisko chipped in with eight. Broady Froese hit a pair of three pointers while TJ Froese had a third.
Coach Froese concluded his post-game reflections by adding, “Zach (Martisko) was really big on the boards for us tonight as was Cooper Seidl as well. Brody (Froese) had a nice floor game and got us into what we wanted to run. I am proud of our effort tonight. It will be a tough week next week at the Moundridge Tournament, but we will show up and play really hard and see what happens.”
Next week the Teutons will play in the Moundridge Early Season Tournament beginning with a game against Lyons on Tuesday.
