BEAT CONWAY SPRINGS BY 1, 14-13
INMAN – The Inman football team will move forward in the Class 1A state playoffs after scoring a one-point, 14-13 win over Conway Springs last Thursday.
What the win does is set the 8-1 Teutons up for a second battle with county rival Moundridge in the state regionals. Inman defeated Moundridge in the final game of the regular season, 22-7.
Tyler Jerrick took a pass from Malachi Brunk and rambled 50-yards for a score in the second quarter. After missing the extra point, Conway Springs scored and took a one-point, 6-7 lead over the Teutons heading into the halftime break.
Trailing 6-13 after three quarters, Inman turned a long offensive drive into a one-yard touchdown by Brunk who then dove in for a two-point conversion, giving the Teutons the final one-point, 14-13 victory.
Inman rang up 307 yards in offense with 135 coming through the air as Brunk completed four-of-four passes for 135 yards. Thanks to Korbyn McClellan running for 88 yards on nine totes, the Teutons totaled 172 yards running.
Defensively, Cooper Wiens led the Teutons with 9.5 tackles, Tyler Jerrick made 7.5 and Kru Harris recorded seven.
