INMAN – It was a difficult loss to swallow for the Inman football team at home on Friday as they suffered their third loss in four games in losing to Sterling 35-18.
The Teutons fell behind 14-0 in the first quarter as Sterling broke for an 86 run to the end zone and then added a pass interception return to paydirt as well.
Talon Welch scored a pair of points by taking down Sterling in the end zone for a safety. After Sterling drove down and scored from three yards out, Inman put their first touchdown in the scorebook on a five-yard pass from Malachi Brunk to Kellen Schrag, leaving Sterling with a 21-10 lead at the halftime break.

Brunk connected with Brody Froese for a huge 32-yard scoring pass play in the fourth but could not overcome Sterling scoring a touchdown in both the third and fourth quarters to hand the Teutons the final 17-point, 35-18 loss.

Malachi Brunk had a super day passing, connecting on 14-of-24 throws good for 192 yards and the two scores plus an interception. Brody Froese was the favorite target as he pulled in four receptions covering 117 yards. Talon Welch led the running attack by picking up 58 yards on 12 totes.
