SEDGWICK – On Friday, the Inman High football team went on the road to Sedgwick and were air raided to the tune of a 15-point, 35-20 loss.

Now 0-2 for the first two weeks of the season, the Teutons will be back at home next Friday hosting Remington. Remington is also 0-2 with a pair of lobsided losses to Sterling and Hutchinson Trinity.

On Friday, neither team scored in the first quarter as the Teutons found the end zone first on a 31-yard pass from Kellen Schrag to Dawson McConnell. After that point, it was all Sedgwick as they bombed the Teuton defense for a pair of long ball scoring passes covering 76 and 67 yards before finishing out their scoring explosion with a two-yard pass for touchdown late in the quarter, giving Sedgwick a 21-6 advantage heading into the halftime break.

Zachary Martisko grabbed a Sedgwick fumble and scampered 56 yards to the end zone for a Teuton score in the third quarter after which the two teams alternated scoring with Talon Welch also rambling for a score on a 66-yard run sandwiched in between two more scoring passes by Sedgwick.

With neither team finding the end zone in the final quarter of play, Sedgwick held on for the final 15-point, 35-20 win.

Sedgwick ran up 467 yards in offense of which 338 came through the air while the Teutons had 247 yards in total offense with 197 being on the ground. Inman struggled on third downs, making just one of ten for the night.

Talon Welch had a huge game for the Teutons, rushing for 120 yards on 11 carries while Kellen Schrag ran for 68. Schrag hampered his own production though by only completing three of twenty passes and threw four interceptions.

Defensively, Inman was led by Schrag with 10.5 total tackles including eight solo stops and Zachary Martisko who recorded 9.5 tackles.
