C/G EAGLE BOYS LOSE TO RURAL VISTA
By Staff
It was not the ending they hoped for in the 2025/26 season opener Friday for the Canton/Galva boys basketball team as they lost by 11, 58-69 to Rural Vista.
The Eagles held a one-point, 16-15 lead after the first quarter before falling behind by three, 30-33, by the halftime break.
Trailing by just four after three quarters, Rural Vista took advantage of foul troubles by the Eagles and pulled away in the fourth quarter to gain the 58-69 win over Canton/Galva.
“Opeining night against a very good and physical team,” noted Eagle head coach Larry O’Connor. “Wegot into foul trouble, then missed to many free throws. The boys played hard and with good energy.”
Eagle juniors, Kustom Schamp and Jaxon Nightingale led the team on offense with 19 and 18 points, respectively.
The Eagles will be playing in the Goessel Bluebird Classic Tournament this week.
