Reiff Gets Pair of 1st-Place Wins

SOLOMON – On Thursday, the Elyria Christian track/field teams traveled to Solomon for the Wheat State League meet where the Lady Eagles finished fourth and the Eagle boys placed eighth.

Laney Reiff won two events while Brooke Davidson, Ty Romero, and  Blake Robertson each won one.

Next up for the Eagle track/field athletes will be on Thursday, May 16 in Greensburg at the Class 1A State Regional meet.

ELYRIA CHRISTIAN  LADY EAGLE RESULTS >

The Lady Eagles scored 60.50 points to finish fourth in the team standings as Little River ran away with the team title scoring 134 points. Goessel and Wakefield finished second and third.

Laney Reiff a season best in the 800 meters as she won the event along with winning the 1,600 meters. Macy Reiff had a season best run in the 1,600 meters, finishing second to her sister.

Londyn Olsen and Emelie Green each ran season best times in the 3,200 meters while finishing fourth and fifth, respectively.

Brooke Davidson had the other Lady Eagle win with the top throw in the shot put.

800 Meters > 1. Laney Reiff – 2:23.90 (season best); 4. Macy Reiff – 2:38.94 (season best).

1,600 Meters > 1. Laney Reiff – 5:31.82; 2. Macy Reiff – 5:50.77 (season best).

3,200 Meters > 4. Londyn Olsen – 15:19.15 (season best); 5. Emelie Green – 16:10.49 (season best).

High Jump > 6. Hannah Bower – 4’ 2”.

Discus > 3. Kenna Cass – 96’ 3”.

Shot Put > 1. Brooke Davidson – 33’ 4”; 3. Kenna Cass – 31’ 9”.

Scoring 34 points put the Elyria boys in eighth place of the team standings, well behind team champion Little River. Rural Vista and Goessel rounded out the top three.

Ty Romero and Blake Robertson led the Eagle boys with wins in high jump and shot put. Emmitt Neufeldt had a season best run in the 800 meters while finishing third.

1,600 Meters > 4. Emmitt Neufeldt – 5:10.70.
