Konen, Renken lead Scoring

GOESSEL – On Saturday the Little River boys closed out their play at the Goessel Bluebird Classic with an 18-point, 45-27 win over Hutchinson Central Christian.

With the win the Redskins are now 2-2 on the season as they ready themselves to battle Moundridge on Tuesday.

Against Central Christian, Little River held a five point, 11-6 lead at the end of the first quarter before pushing the advantage to eight points at 20-12 going into the halftime break. Coming out of the break, the Redskins put 25 more points on the board in the final two quarters while Central Christian added 15 to their total, giving Little River their final 18-point margin of victory.

Little River pulled down 31 rebounds as a team including 22 on the defensive boards.

Individually, Jaxson Konen led the team in scoring with 16 thanks to four three-pointers. Logan Renken chipped in with 13. Ty Janette led the team on the boards by hauling in six rebounds though both CJ Herzog and Renken each grabbed five.
