WILDCATS FINISH UNBEATEN, WIN PAIR over HUTCHINSON TRINITY and REMINGTON

            MOUNDRIDGE – The Moundridge boys continue the march toward a possible third straight Class 2A state title as they finished the regular season with a pair of wins over Hutchinson Trinity (66-40) at home on Thursday before taking down Remington (57-31) on the road on Friday.

            Now 20-0 for the 2024/25 season, the Wildcats will be the number one seed in their sub-state where they will tangle with sixteen-seed Belleville/Republic County on Thursday. With a win, Moundridge would then tangle with the winner of the game between eighth seed Conway Springs and ninth seed Wichita Classical on Tuesday, March 4.

 

            Moundridge took an early seven-point, 15-8, lead at the end of the first quarter against Hutchinson Trinity before doubling them up at 30-15 heading to the halftime break. After throwing 28 points on the scoreboard in the third quarter to take a commanding 30-point, 58-28 advantage, the Wildcats closed out the game with the final 16-point, 66-40 victory.

 

            Bear Moddelmog connected on four three-pointers on his way to a game high 25 points, with Heath Churchill joining him in double digits with 11 while Kepple Adolf scored  eight.

 

            Taking an 11-point, 14-3, lead by the end of the first quarter on the road at Remington, the Wildcats extended the advantage to 19 points, 30-11, at the halftime break before rolling along to the final 26-point, 57-31 win.

 

            Kepple Adolf had the game high of 16 points while Bear Moddelmog scored 15 and Heath Churchill chipped in with 13.
