LADY WILDCATS EARN 4 WINS IN 7 DAYS

            MOUNDRIDGE – Heading into the final full week of high school basketball for the 2024/25 season, the Moundridge girls continue to roll as they earned four wins in seven days by beating Marion and Bennington on the road and then gaining victories over Ell-Saline and Inman at home.

 

            With the wins, the Lady Wildcats now sit at 16-2 for the season and ranked number three in Class 2A, Moundridge will close out the regular season with a home game against Hutchinson Trinity on Thursday followed by a road trip to Remington on Friday.

            On Friday, February 7, the Lady Wildcats traveled to Marion and routed the Lady Warriors by turning a 23-point, 34-11 halftime lead into a final 45-point, 62-17 win.

 

            Not only did Moundridge outrebound Marion 30-18, they also forced the Lady Warriors into making 31 turnovers.

 

            Cammi Unruh led the Lady Wildcats with 15 points while Macy Kaminkow and  Mackie Conkling chipped in with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Addy Patrick just missed double digits with nine.

 

            Last week was a busy one as Moundridge went on the road Monday and scored a 14-point, 49-35, win over Bennington despite Bennington outrebounding the Lady Wildcats 24-19. Once again, the Lady Wildcat defense rose up and forced Bennington into making 18 turnovers.

 

            Cammi Unruh continued to do well with 17 points while Addy Patrick had 12 and Hattie Hecox scored nine.

 

            Getting back on the home court Tuesday against Ell-Saline, the Lady Wildcats did  not look tired despite their third game in five days as they scored a convincing 39-point, 71-32, win.

 

            It was a team game as the Lady Wildcats dished out 17 assists on 27 field goals while pulling down 32 rebounds and making 18 steals on defense.

 

            Four Moundridge girls made double digits led by Cammi Unruh with 17 points, Macy Kaminkow with 13, Addy Patrick with a dozen and Mackie Conkling chipped in with 10. Both Unruh and Addy Patrick connected on four three-pointers, while Kaminkow scored a double-double by pulling down a game high 14 rebounds.

 

            Finishing out the week with another home game, this time hosting county rival Inman, the Lady Wildcats earned a 16-point, 48-32, win over the Class 2A fourth-ranked Lady Teutons.

 

            Cammie Unruh had another strong night offensively by leading the team in scoring with 18 points and making four steals. Hattie Hecox chipped  in with 13 points and Macy Kaminkow again dominated the work in the paint with 10 rebounds.
