LADY WILDCATS ROUT WCCA AT HOME, 77-23

            MOUNDRIDGE – The Moundridge girls basketball team raised their season mark to 7-1 on Tuesday when they humbled Wichita Central Christian Academy with a 77-23 routing in front of the Lady Wildcat home fans.

            The Lady Wildcats raced out to a 27-5 lead by the end of the first quarter and held a commanding 30-point, 42-12, advantage going into the halftime break. In the final two quarters, Moundridge outscored Wichita Central Christian Academy 35-11 to get the final 54-point victory.

            Moundridge dominated every phase of the game as they connected on 65% of their two-point shots (24/37), dished out 17 assists, forced 20 steals while grabbing 30 rebounds.

            Five Lady Wildcats reached double digits in the score book led by Cammi Unruh with 16 and Hallie Hecox with 14. Both Addy Patrick and Mackie Conkling scored 12 points while Macy Kaminkow had 10.

            Kaminkow had an outstanding overall game, nearly getting a double-double with eight rebounds plus recording a team high in both assists with five and steals with five. Aspyn Stos pitched in with six rebounds and Unruh grabbed five.

With the win, the third-ranked Lady Wildcats  in Class 2A will now  prep for a road trip to play Wichita Classical on Friday, January 17.
