LADY WILDCATS POUND ELYRIA, 73-28

MOUNDRIDGE – Playing an outnumbered team while putting 10 players in the scoring column, the Moundridge girls’ basketball team opened the 2024/25 season with a 45-point, 73-28 win on the road at Elyria Christian.
The Lady Wildcats scored 22 points in each of the first two quarters to take a commanding 44-15 advantage into the halftime break before outscoring Elyria 29-13 in the final two quarters in getting the 45-point victory.

Ten Lady Wildcats put at least a pair of points in the scoring column led by juniors Cammi Unruh and Macy Kaminkow with 15 and 11 points, respectively. Freshman Mackie Conkling scored 11 points while Hattie Hecox just missed double digits with nine.
Six Lady Wildcats hit a three-pointer in the game including Conkling, Hattie Hecox, Ashtyn Patrick, Izzy Durst, Addy Patrick, and Halle Hecox.
As a team the Lady Wildcats outrebounded Elyria 32-19 while grabbing 12 steals and blocking four shots.
Next up for the Lady Wildcats will be on Tuesday, December 10 when they host county rival Inman in the first round of the Moundridge pre-season tournament.
