WILDCATS REMAIN UNBEATEN, BEAT REPUBLIC COUNTY

MOUNDRIGE – The Moundridge boys remained unbeaten with a 58-25 win over Belleville/Republic County at home on Tuesday in their first game of the Class 2A sub-state playoffs.
Now 21-0 and looking for their third straight Class 2A state championship, the Wildcats second game of the sub-state playoffs will come on Tuesday, March 4 when they play host to Wichita Classical, the ninth seed winner over eighth seed Conway Springs, 56-44. Wichita Classical will enter the game 13-8 for the season and lost to Moundridge on January 12, 58-28.

Moundridge drummed Republic County to the tune of a 22-0 lead by the end of the first quarter and had a 24-point, 38-14, advantage heading into the halftime break. After pushing the lead to 35 points, 54-19 at the end of the third quarter, the Wildcats finished out with the final 33-point, 58-25 victory.
Bear Moddelmog used three three-pointers to help gain the game high in scoring with 17 points. Kepple Adolf and Kaizer Kanitz also reached double digits with 14 and 10 points, respectively.
