MMS JUNIOR PUP GRAPPLERS BUSY ON THE ROAD

JV TOURNEY IN GODDARD, HOSTING PRAIRIE HILLS/WELLINGTON

MCPHERSON – It was a busy few for the McPherson Middle School boys wrestling team as they traveled to Goddard on Saturday (November 4) for a junior varsity tournament before returning home for a triangular with Buhler Prairie Hills and Wellington on Tuesday, November 7.


On Saturday at th Goddard junior varsity tournament the Junior Pups had seven of 12 wrestlers medal with a pair taking first, two more taking both second and third while one finished fourth.


Luke Farley at 134B and Jacob Juan at 265 both won tournament championships with Farley going 2-0 and Juan finishing 2-1.


In the home triangular, McPherson tied Wellington 54-54 before losing to Prairie Hills 32-72.


Five Junior Pups went 2-0 on the day including Carter Rinker, Madison Burkes Jr., Max Crane, Graham Prescott, and Carter Leathers.


According to Junior Pup head coach Chet Harlin, “The boys showed some fight and we found a lot of things we need to improve on.”
