MMS 8th grade JUNIOR LADY PUPS WIN FOUR

Take Pair from Clearwater & El Dorado

Last week the McPherson eighth-grade girls basketball teams won four games with a pair of wins over Clearwater and El Dorado.

Against Clearwater, the Junior Lady Pups ‘A’ team dominated in a 44-3 victory as Jersey Alexander led the team with 15 points and both Audra Sandbo and Karlie Cooper each chipped in with eight.

Alexander nearly had a double-double as she grabbed nine rebounds and dominated the boards as Kennedy Bonham hauled in seven. Audra Sandbo directed the offense and dished out nine assists.

In the ‘B’ game against Clearwater, McPherson scored a 16-point, 23-7 win as Kennedy Bonham lead the team in scoring with seven and Jaylinn Major had six.

On Thursday playing El Dorado, the eight-grade ‘A’ team Junior Lady Pups scored another dominating win, this time by 30 points at 43-13.

Jersey Alexander again hit for double digits in scoring with 14 as did Audra Sandbo with 11 while Kennedy Bonham just missed with nine. Bonham led the team on the boards with seven rebounds and Sandbo again directed the offense and passed out seven assists while grabbing six steals on defense.

The ‘B’ team nearly pulled a shutout against El Dorado with a 16-point, 18-2 win as Rut Diaz Chay led the team in scoring with seven.

With the pair of victories each, the eighth-grade ‘A’ Junior Lady Pups are now 10-1 for the season while the ‘B’ team is still unbeaten at 11-0.

Next up for the Junior Lady Pups 8th graders will be on Monday, December 4 hosting Haysville before going on the road on Thursday, December 7 at Haysville West.
