MMS 8th-grade JUNIOR LADY PUPS SWEEP FOUR FROM HAYSVILLE

‘A’ team is 12-1; ‘B’ team finishes 13-0

MCPHERSON – In a pair of games with Haysville and Haysville West, the McPherson Middle School eighth-grade girls basketball teams swept all four in somewhat easy fashion.

With the sweep, the ‘A’ team closes out the regular season at 12-1 with the League Tournament yet to have been played, while the ‘B’ team closed out the season with a perfect 13-0 record.

‘A’ Team Games:

On Monday the eighth grade ‘A’ team scored a near shutout as they played host to Haysville and won 43-1.

Kennedy Bonham had a huge game, scoring 10 points and just missing a double-double with eight rebounds while making seven steals. Audra Sandbo finished the game with nine points, and six rebounds as she also dished out six assists.

Thursday on the road at Haysville West, the ‘A’ team had a much tougher game before coming home with a 15-point, 36-21 victory.

Amarie Lowery and Kennedy Bonham both finished with 11 points as Bonham just missed a double-double again as she grabbed a team high nine rebounds.

The ‘B’ team games:

The Junior Lady Pups eighth grade ‘B’ team closed out their season with a pair of lopsided, dominating wins to finish the season at 13-0.

Against Haysville at home on Monday, the Junior Lady Pups ‘B’ team recorded a shutout victory of 22-0.

Jaylinn Major and Kennedy Bonham led the team with six points each.

On the road Thursday at Haysville West, the Junior Lady Pup ‘B’ team nearly pulled an identical win as they scored a 23-2 victory to end the season.

Allison Randa led the team in scoring with 10.
