Take Pair from Clearwater, Split with El Dorado

MCPHERSON – Last week on Tuesday and Thursday, the McPherson Middle School seventh-grade girls basketball teams went 3-1 with a pair of wins over Clearwater and a split of two games with El Dorado.

Against Clearwater, the seventh-grade Junior Lady Pups ‘A’ team earned a 10-point, 23-13-win lead by Hadley Bearly and Caysen Blake with eight points each.

In the Clearwater ‘B’ team battle, McPherson won again, this time by 22 in a dominating 17-5 victory. Both Ava Mendoza and Zayna Busse hit for double digits with 10 points each.

In the game with El Dorado, the seventh-grade Junior Lady Pup ‘A’ team took a six-point, 18-24 loss as Hannah Wilgers and Zayna Busse led the scoring with six points.

The ‘B’ team won again, this time beating El Dorado by 17, 29-12 as Zayna Busse had eight points and both Adeline Kramer and Sophia Thomason each scored five.

The seventh-grade Junior Lady Pups will be back on the competitive court Monday hosting Haysville before hitting the road on Thursday, December 7 at Haysville West.
