Junior Pups Earn 6 Top-10 Finishes

MCPHERSON – On Tuesday, the McPherson Middle School cross country teams hosted an Invitational with six other middle schools and 98 runners.

The Junior Pup harriers earned six top-ten finishes and a total of 11 in placed in the top-twenty of their divisions.

Earning the top finish of the day was Adeline Kramer who ran a 14:18.34 in the 17 runner seventh-grade girls division. Ava Mendoza also finished in the top ten in eighth place.

The Junior Lady Pups had but one runner in the eighth-grade girls division, but Eliza Jex made the best of it as she finished fourth out of 17 runners with a time of 14:56.58.

For the seventh-grade boys, both Elliott Schoming and Paxton Weiser finished in the top-ten of 32 runners with Schoming placing fifth and Weiser placing eighth.

Logan Starks ran a top-ten time of 13:49.96 for the Junior Pups eighth graders, good enough to place sixth.

Other Junior Pup runners placing in the top twenty of their divisions were Reyna Bowen, Parker Riemann, Colton Estes, Thatcher Schuckman and Nickson Muehler.

Next cross country meet for the Junior Pup harriers will come on Tuesday, September 26 at Wellington.
