Singles win 17-1, Doubles win 8-1

BUHLER – The McPherson Middle School girls tennis team came to play on Thursday when they traveled to play Buhler Prairie Hills Middle School and came home with a decisive 25-2 win.

“Today our girls came to play,” noted Junior Lady Pup head coach Paul Reichenberger. “We played extremely well in singles and doubles. I am happy to see our girls communicating more in doubles and putting in the extra effort in singles.”

In the singles competition, McPherson won all but one of 18 matches with a dozen of those wins coming in 6-0 shutout fashion.

Winning all but one of nine doubles matches, the Junior Lady Pups again scored a couple of 6-0 shutout wins among the eight victories.

Coach Reichenberger concluded his post meet reflections by saying, “This dual was a great opportunity for the girls on our tennis team who are new to tennis. They have really improved over the past week and gained a lot of confidence tonight!”

Next up for the Junior Lady Pup tennis team will be a road trip on Monday, September 11, when they travel to Arkansas City.
