WINS STATE TITLE AGAIN

LITTLE RIVER – As we all know the Little River volleyball team won the Class 1A Division I state title for the second season in a row and finished the season with a record of 41-2.


The team was well balanced between veterans and youngsters as the 12-player roster included five seniors (Kate Ellwood, Ashley Stephenson, Aubrey Olander, Kami Grasser and Alaina Eck), no juniors, six sophomores (Evie Look, Lucy Wright, Havana Olander, Kisley Wohletz, Arika Feldman, Adelynne Strecker) and one freshman (Saelyn Raleigh).


Among the stat leaders for the season were Kate Ellwood directing the offense attack by dishing out 592 assists with Evie Look filling in and passing out 359. Kami Grasser and Alaina Eck each appeared in 95 sets while Aubrey Olander, Kate Ellwood, Ashley Stephenson and Adelynne Strecker each played 94 sets.


Alaina Eck topped the team in kills with 357, Kami Grasser scored the most service aces with 60, Aubrey Olander made 144 blocks and Adelynne Strecker punched out 386 digs.

Aubrey Olander played in 359 sets, made 739 kills, recorded 379 blocks and made 152 digs. Ashley Stephenson appeared in 349 sets, made 478 kills, recorded 184 blocks, made 213 digs and had 153 assists.
