LITTLE RIVER TRACK/FIELD TAKE 1ST & 2ND AT LYONS

Lady Redskins Earn Team Title, 6 Golds – Redskin Boys Place 2nd,

LYONS – On Friday, the Little River track/field teams traveled west to Lyons and came home with a team title and six gold medals for the girls and a second-place finish for the boys.

 

The Lady Redskins rolled up 121 team points to out distance Larned in second with 88.50 points to earn the team title. Moundridge, Russell, and St. John/Hudson rounded out the top five of ten teams participating.

 

Harmony Love won the 3,200 meters, Aubrey Olander took first in the 300-meter hurdles, Havana Olander won the triple jump and Kate Ellwood took first in the pole vault while both eh 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay quartet of Ashley Stephenson, Alaina Eck, Kami Grasser and Saelyn Raleigh  won gold as well.

 

In the sprints, Saelyn Raleigh, Kami Grasser, and Alaina Eck ran second, third and fourth in the 100 meters while Grasser and Raleigh finished second and third in the 200 meters.

 

The Redskin boys finished with 84 points, placing them second behind Moundridge who ran up 141 team points. Central Plains, St. John/Hudson, and Lyons rounded out the top five in the team standings.

 

Cole Dieball had the lone Redskin gold medal with his winning the discus while Andrew Smith ran second in both the 100- and 400-meters and finished third in the 200. Brady Obley ran second in the 3,200 meters and Ty Janette and Tristan Bristow tied for second in the high jump.

 

The Little River tacksters will be back running and jumping competitively on Tuesday at the Inman Invitational.
